Homeless Project
The MU homeless initiative, which started three years ago by the MU DM Friendship Group at St John Baptist Church, Berkswell continues to go from strength to strength with lots of support from MU members within the diocese.
We deliver food donated by Sainsbury three times a week to 4 Homeless Hostels in Coventry City Centre on rotation.
Our third event to celebrate Mary Sumner Day 2025 went very well where we served savoury as well as sweet treats and provided entertainment for the residents.
We hope to support a third Christmas lunch at Gateway Hostel, by helping out and providing turkeys and entertainment. We are grateful for all donations received which are put to good use in supporting the summer and Christmas events.
Also donations of toiletries, clothes, long dated tinned food like Fray Bentos steak pies and meatballs are also gratefully received. Donations of clothes, toys, household items, dried and tinned food also are much appreciated.
Your prayerful support is much appreciated also. I have also enjoyed visiting branches and was the keynote speaker at Wellesbourne Deanery Lunch.
Due to my talk four branches, soon to be five, have now got a MU homeless bin displayed within their church.
